Temecula Valley Students Earn Cash for “Thinking Green”
RighTime® Home Services & Temecula Education Foundation Reward Winners of Fifth Annual “Think Green” Energy Conservation Contest
RIVERSIDE, California – April 29, 2017 – RighTime® Home Services of Riverside, a residential heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical company in Southern California, and the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF) announced today the winners of the fifth annual “Think Green” Contest. Cash prizes were awarded to three deserving student winners at the annual Taste of Temecula Valley event.
The contest invites kindergarten through 12th grade students in the Temecula Valley Unified School District to submit written essays, drawings, and models demonstrating energy-saving ideas for a chance to win. The three selected winners of the Spring 2016 Think Green Contest are:
- 1st First Place High School – MATTHEW SCHORK, Temecula Valley High School. Awarded $500 for his essay on how the district can save money and energy by “going off the grid” with solar solutions.
- 1st Place Middle School – JADEN WHITSON, Temecula Middle School. Awarded $300 for his essay and poster presentation on using a subterranean coal plant and an aboveground carbon dioxide greenhouse to produce more energy, while helping the ozone layer.
- 1st Place Elementary School – BEAU G. RITTER, Tony Tobin Elementary School. Awarded $200 for his essay and picture presentation of using donated or home grown fruits and vegetables to make energy.
In addition, RighTime would like to recognize and thank the runner-ups of the 2017 Think Green Contest for their impressive entries, including Ashley Ippolito of Temecula Valley High School, Cristina Scott of Bella Vista Middle School and Jake Hart of Paloma Elementary School.
