NOV. 3 RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY TO CELEBRATE TEF’S NEW NAME, LOGO, & MISSION TO SUPPORT TVUSD STUDENTS
The Temecula Education Foundation (TEF), the only 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation supporting almost 30,000 students in the Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD), will hold a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, November 3, at 11 AM on the campus of Sparkman Alternative Education Center, 32225 Pio Pico Road, Temecula. Formerly known as the Temecula Valley Foundation for Excellence in Education, TEF, in conjunction with the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, is holding the ceremony to officially launch its new name and logo, which were introduced in January 2015. The ceremony also celebrates the mission of the foundation, which is to “enhance and improve educational opportunities for TVUSD students.” TEF is best known for its six-year sponsorship of summer enrichment classes for high school students and its five-year funding of curriculum support grants for TVUSD teachers. Since 2011 and, with this year’s grants for enrichment in the visual arts, performing arts, and sciences, total TEF donations supporting students in Grades K-12 now exceed $100,000. The foundation is also known for sponsoring the Taste of Temecula Valley (TOTV), which was expanded in 2015 to a two-day community event. The next TOTV is April 29-30, 2016, in Old Town Temecula.
