TEMECULA, Calif. — March 9, 2016 –– The Temecula Education Foundation (TEF), in partnership with the City of Temecula and the Temecula Valley Unified School District, invites the community to the sixth annual Taste of Temecula Valley (TOTV) Friday, April 29, 6 PM – 10 PM, and Saturday, April 30, 11 AM – 7 PM. The taste event is held at Town Square Park, in front of the Temecula Civic Center, 41000 Main Street, Old Town Temecula. This year’s festivities begin with the opening of taste booths and a special Friday-only VIP Dinner and Concert catered for the second consecutive year by the award-winning chefs from Pechanga Resort & Casino. The two-day entertainment lineup features a Friday-night headline act from Las Vegas, silent and live auctions, and full-day, live entertainment on Saturday.
“Last year’s Friday night VIP Dinner & Concert were very well received, and guests were wowed by the array of seafood, entrees, salads, and desserts prepared by Pechanga’s chefs and paired with Temecula’s favorite wines and beers,” said TOTV Event Chair Mark Katan. “We received rave reviews for our inaugural event, and we are thrilled to have Pechanga back as VIP Dinner sponsor again this year. Pechanga Resort & Casino will occupy four booths at Saturday’s TOTV. Its chefs are always a crowd favorite, and they will be front and center among our 70+ food, wine, micro-brew and craft beer, and specialty-booth offerings.”
“Whether you attend Friday night’s TOTV, come for the exclusive dinner and concert, or bring your family to the full-day Saturday TOTV, we want everyone to know we do this for the kids. The funds we raise go right back to schools for arts education and curriculum support to benefit students,” he added.
General admission to Friday’s TOTV opening night is $10 per person. Reserved seating for the TOTV VIP Concert & Dinner is $60 per person. An exclusive VIP Table Sponsor Package featuring champagne and special promotions ($500 for table of eight) also is available. The VIP Dinner & Concert Package includes access to all TOTV booths, front-row concert seating, and bid access to a live auction. For VIP reservations, contact TEF Director Jennifer Sevilla, (951) 901-0171, or jsevilla@myprovident.com.
Entertainment for both Friday and Saturday is provided by Golden Crown Productions. Friday’s all-star lineup includes acoustic singer/songwriter Katelyn Marie and producer and Grammy Award- nominee Billy Alexander, who has written and recorded with A-list musicians such as Tom Petty. They lead into a not-to-be-missed musical experience with The World’s Greatest Tribute Band, Another Journey. Based in Las Vegas, this group tours the U.S. and sells out shows regularly. It will perform all of Journey’s classic hits and can only be rivaled by Journey itself, Katan noted.
The full-day tasting event on Saturday, April 30, 11 AM – 7 PM, returns for its sixth year, with all-day family-friendly entertainment and access to more than 70 booths spotlighting the area’s best restaurants, wineries, and microbreweries. Artisan booths and expanded Fun Zones featuring the Jolly Express trackless train will keep all ages busy. Tasting and activities require the use of tickets, which are sold in increments of $2 at the gate.
The Saturday entertainment lineup includes Temecula-based Americana/blues/folk group Dulaney & Company, PBS TV artist Sebastian Sidi on piano, country artist Temecula Road, pop artists Katelyn Marie & Billy Alexander, San Diego “Artist of the Year” reggae/rock performer Safety Orange, local rock recording artists Master Splinter and the Shredders (a.k.a MSATS), and Temecula-based alt rockers, The 4019’s, (who sometimes spell their name out as The Forty Nineteens).
TOTV will also host surprise performances, including Temecula teen Cole Criske, who appeared on NBC’s “The Voice” (Season 9), and Carlsbad native Alaina Blair, who was featured on “American Idol” (Season 10).
Admission to Saturday’s full-day Taste of Temecula Valley is $10 per person. Children 12 and under are free. Taste and other activity tickets are $2 each. Patrons 21 and over must show ID at entrance. Admission to Saturday event includes special tasting glass with appropriate wristband.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our sixth year in Old Town Temecula, and we are delighted to have TOTV 2016 return for a second year as a two-day event. The concept of a community taste – an event that brings the best restaurants, wineries, and microbreweries from Temecula Wine Country and Southern California together in one location – is exciting. Patrons pay an admission fee, then small tasting fee to sample food and drink they might otherwise never try. Kids of all ages will have fun in our expanded Fun Zones, sponsored by Jolly Jumps and, with all-day, live entertainment, there’s something to keep everyone busy. It is great exposure for our vendors, and it’s an easy, fun way to raise much-needed funding for classroom enrichment,” said Katan
