TEF to Participate in GIVING TUESDAY on DEC. 1, 2015
November 23, 2015 – TEMECULA, CA – You’ve heard of Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and Cyber Monday (the first day of holiday internet sales), but have you heard of Giving Tuesday? Now in its fourth year, Giving Tuesday (this year on Dec. 1) is a global day of giving, when many pause to consider year-end and holiday donations to worthwhile causes. On that day and going forward, the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF) will launch its first-ever, year-round “Text to Donate” campaign. TEF is the only 501(c)3 non-profit foundation supporting enrichment programs in the visual arts, performing arts, and sciences for Grades K-12 in the Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD).
Run by an all-volunteer board over the past five years, TEF has donated more than $100,000 to support TVUSD students. In addition to classroom grants, it sponsors acceleration summer school for high school students and is working on a pilot elementary music program. We believe enrichment programs are important for student development and achievement, and we need your help to DO EVEN MORE to help students.
Here’s how it works:
- Text the word “TEF” to 951-800-7612 on your smartphone.
- You will receive a text back with a link to add a credit card for payment.
- You will then be requested to text the amount you want to donate.
- You will receive a verification text along with a thank you.
All credit card donations are handled via Stripe payment processing using SSL encryption to keep your payment information secure. Donations will be allocated to fund programs to benefit TVUSD students. Your support is appreciated, and your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
